You generally don’t have to give them a recorded statement. Get advice first.
Your own insurer
Your policy likely requires cooperation, including statements in some cases. Be accurate, don’t guess, and don’t downplay injuries.
- Don’t guess about speed or distance
- Don’t say “I’m fine” if you’re not sure
- Don’t sign medical authorizations without reading them
